How Invoute handles your information - and the information about the customers you invoice. Written to be read, not just filed.
This summary is for orientation only - the full policy below is what governs.
This Privacy Policy explains how Invoute ("Invoute", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our website, mobile and web applications, and related services (together, the "Service").
It also explains the distinction - important for an invoicing tool - between the information we hold about you as an account holder, and the information you enter about your own customers in order to quote and invoice them. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
The Service is operated by Techbase Solutions Ltd, the company behind Invoute (registered at St Michael, Barbados). For the purposes of data-protection law, we act as a data controller for the information we hold about our account holders, and as a data processor for the customer information you enter into the Service. See Section 5 for what that means in practice.

We do not sell your personal information or your customers' information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
This is the part most invoicing tools gloss over, so we'll be clear.
For your own account information, we are the controller - we decide how it is used, within the limits of this policy and the law.
When you enter details about the people and businesses you invoice, you are the controller of that information and we are your processor: we hold and process it only to provide the Service to you, and only on your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to enter your customers' details and, where required, for telling them how their information is used. If a customer of yours asks us to access or delete their information, we will refer them to you as the controller.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After you close your account, we delete or anonymise your information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes.
Documents you have created may need to be retained by you for your own tax and record-keeping duties; we recommend exporting them before you close your account.
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can do much of this directly in your account settings - including exporting your documents and deleting your account.
To make a request we can't action in-app, email privacy@invoute.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Invoute may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards - such as standard contractual clauses - to protect it in line with this policy and applicable law.
The Service is intended for business use by adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
